An HR analytics expert, Dan McMurrer is the Chief Analyst and a co-founder of McBassi & Company.

Dan oversees much of McBassi’s day-to-day project management, as well as its on-going research initiatives. He sees clients as partners, and enjoys the process of working with them to implement McBassi’s services in a personalized way, ensuring that the individual needs of each client are met.

Over the past 15 years, Dan has worked closely with McBassi’s CEO, Laurie Bassi.  As a survey analysis expert, Dan has played a major role in designing assessment tools for understanding the unique strengths and weaknesses of each organization’s work and learning environment, and in developing analytic techniques for linking organizations’ business results to the processes and practices by which they manage and develop their employees.

Prior to co-founding McBassi & Company, Dan worked in research positions at the Urban Institute, Saba Software, the American Society for Training & Development, and the U.S. Department of Labor.  He was also the chief research officer for over 10 years at Bassi Investments, a ground-breaking investment company that generated above-market returns by investing in companies with superior human capital management.

Dan has authored over 20 published papers and books, including Good Company: Business Success in the Worthiness Era (2011: Berrett-Koehler), the winner of the 2012 Nautilus Gold Award for best business/leadership book of the year; and the HR Analytics Handbook (2010: Reed Business). He holds a M.P.P. in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Politics from Princeton University.
